Job Description

Are you an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper? A thriving organization on Staten Island is seeking a talented Bookkeeper to join their financial team. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your accounting skills to a company that values accuracy, organization, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts monthly.
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax filings as needed.
  • Manage and track budgets, expense reports, and vendor payments.
  • Generate invoices and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in financial records or transactions promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred but not required).
